A superbly imaginative stage director, Kristine McIntyre is recognized for an acute ability to translate theatrical concepts and make them readable to her audiences. Ms. McIntyre has staged numerous operas and theater works, several ballets, and has assisted in the direction of scores of productions principally in the United States. She has worked with The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Portland Opera, Dallas Opera, Pittsburgh Opera Center, Long Beach Opera, and Sugar Creek Symphony & Song. Recent and upcoming directorial assignments and debuts include projects with Arizona Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, The Metropolitan Opera, Skylight Opera, Portland Opera Studio, and the Pittsburgh Opera Center. Ms. McIntyre received a graduate degree in Theatre Direction (Master of Arts - with Distinction) from the University of Hull, England and graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Ms. McIntyre is bi-lingual and speaks Italian in addition to her native English.
