Houston-born soprano Hanan Alattar is a beautiful and gifted artist who is in high demand on both the operatic and concert stages. Described as a “most stylish singer” with a “crystalline soprano” she has performed with distinguished opera companies and symphony orchestras in the United States and abroad. In opera, Ms. Alattar has sung with Los Angeles Opera, English National Opera, Seattle Opera, Arizona Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Aspen Music Festival, Staatsoper Unter Den Linden, Berlin Staatsoper, New York City Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Austin Lyric Opera, Bard Music Festival, and Gotham Chamber Opera. In concert she has been heard with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony, Columbus Symphony, West East Divan Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra in various venues including the Ravinia Festival, and the Lincoln Center Festival in the US,and the Saltzburg Festival and the Mozart Festival in Austria.
A dramatically expressive singer, Ms. Alattar has made important debuts in recent seasons to excellent acclaim. In 2011, she sang Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) in a Seattle Opera debut and again for Austin Lyric Opera a company debut. Additionally in 2011, she gave highly applauded performances of the Mozart Requiem with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
