ARTISTS 2013-2014 SEASON


Roster artists MARY-JEAN O’DOHERTY, Soprano and KATHARINE TIER, Mezzo-Soprano are among 30 singers of 200 applicants world-wide chosen to participate in the 2013 Queen Sonja International Music Competition in Norway. Ms. O’Doherty returns to Welsh National Opera to cover the title role of LULU and Ms. Tier debuts in The Dallas Opera’s Die Töte Stadt following engagements in Germany.

Stage Director JUSTIN WAY continues assignments as Head of Staff Directors at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, revives productions of Butterfly and Cendrillon for Teatre Liceu Barcelona, assists in new productions of Eugene Onegin and Elektra for ROH, and revives Adriana Lecourvreur for the Vienna State Opera.

Conductor ANTONY WALKER returns to Pittsburgh Opera, Washington Concert Opera and Opera Australia following most recent acclaimed productions of Falstaff and Tales of Hoffmann for Opera Australia and English National Opera, respectively, and a highly successful debut with Cape Cod’s distinguished Buzzard’s Bay Chamber Orchestra conducting musicians of international note.

JEFFREY BERUAN, Bass debuts with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City singing Sarastro, debuts with Gotham Chamber Opera singing Pluton, returns to Madison Opera for the Prison Warden and returns to Sarasota Opera for Ferrando following assignments with Caramoor Music Festival and Green Mountain Chamber Opera.
